What happens next?

You will be sent a questionnaire and consent form to complete before you see me. This asks about essential information, such as any current medication or allergies. The form also details our shared expectations for consultations.

The initial consultation

All new consultations with me are in-person (face to face). New outpatient appointments are usually 30 minutes long. This is expected to be suitable for most patients. For many patients, no further consultations will be needed, and you would be given advice then discharged back to your General Practitioner for ongoing care.

Follow-up

Patients having further tests will require a follow-up appointment to discuss the test results. This will be discussed prior to booking the test. Follow-up may be recommended and agreed in other situations, for example to monitor the outcomes of treatment. Where a follow-up appointment is purely for the purpose of discussing results, this can be remote (telephone, or video), or in person as per your preferences and my availability.

NHS care

Private practice is independent of your NHS care. Sometimes patients ask to have their ongoing care transferred to the NHS. I support patients with a referral to the NHS for ongoing care if requested and appropriate. Notably, this is only possible where the patient meets NHS criteria for referral or treatment.
